BLUE & GREEN Association

The area of Hof HaCarmel is one geographic unit stretching from the green Carmel Mountain to the blue Mediterranean which offers a unique combination of culture, nature, scenery and heritage values.

The area includes pre-historic village ruins buried in the sea; five beautiful ancient beach cities; and ancient fortresses and citadels. There are plenty of habitats for marine and beach animals, birds and reptiles.

BLUE & GREEN believes that the preservation of the natural resources of the region is of national importance and that the area should be developed so that it becomes an asset that serves the entire Israeli population and its future generations.

BLUE & GREEN Association was established in 1999 by a group of concerned citizens, residents of Hof HaCarmel. The group identified a need to preserve the  environment by increasing the awareness of the region's residents as well as monitoring and acting as a watchdog for local and national authorities acting in the area. It is a non-profit association functioning on a voluntary basis.

Goals of the Association:

1. Involvement in the process of  planning and development in order to preserve tne hatural environment of HofHa Carmel

2. Preservation of the heritage and natural scenery unique to HohHa Carmel

3.Keeping the beaches clean, protected and open to the public free of charge

.
4. Increasing the environmental awareness of  Hof HaCarmel residents, decision makers and the general public.

.
5. Promoting waste management, cleanliness, recycling, agricultural and illegal waste disposal.

The Association is  based on the Associations Law – 1980 and serves the residents of Hof HaCarmel and the entire Israeli population, and does not discriminate by age, gender, religion or race, nor does it have any political affiliation.

The Association's goals will be met through maximal cooperation between the region's villages and cities and environmental organizations.
